How it works in your installation

What is renewable energy?
It is energy obtained from natural processes that do not run out, such as solar radiation, wind or water. At Smart Energy ESS we focus on technologies that let you store this energy efficiently.
Is an energy storage system worth it?
Definitely. An energy storage system lets you use electricity from photovoltaics in the evening and at night, instead of feeding it into the grid for pennies. This increases self-consumption and genuinely lowers your electricity bills.
What are the environmental benefits of using energy storage?
Storage systems allow fuller use of green energy, which reduces dependence on coal-fired power plants. In addition, LFP cells have a very long lifespan, which means less electronic waste over a span of a dozen or so years.
Why is LFP technology safer?
Lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells have much higher thermal stability than standard lithium-ion cells. This makes them resistant to overheating and significantly reduces the risk of spontaneous ignition, which makes them the safest choice for home energy storage.
Does an energy storage system work with every inverter?
Most modern energy storage systems work with popular hybrid inverters (e.g. Deye). Before buying, however, it is always worth checking the compatibility of the specific model – if you have questions, we are happy to help at kontakt@smartenergyess.com.
How much does an energy storage system cost and what affects the price?
48 V LiFePO4 modules start at 649 PLN for the BMZ 2.5 kWh, which is about 260 PLN per kWh of capacity. The price depends on capacity, cell type, and whether you need a Master BMS controller and connectors. You will find all current prices in the shop.
What warranty do you give on energy storage systems?
We give our own shop warranty of 2 years on all products. This is the Smart Energy ESS warranty, not the manufacturer’s, so if there is a problem you contact us directly: +48 533 643 643.
What does delivery look like and how much does it cost?
We ship from Poland, and goods available in stock are dispatched the next day. Storage modules travel on a pallet (200 PLN per order within Poland), and accessories, i.e. the Master BMS, connectors and cells, by courier (15 PLN per order within Poland). Shipping to other EU countries depends on the destination. Details are on the page Shipping and payment.
Can I return the goods I ordered?
Yes, you have 14 days to return goods in accordance with consumer rights regulations. We described the rules in the shop’s terms and conditions, and if you have any questions we will help by phone or email.
Will you help me match a storage system to my inverter?
Yes. Write or call, tell us the inverter model and your planned electricity consumption, and we will select the capacity and check compatibility. You can also use the storage sizing calculator.
What is the Master BMS for and do I need it?
The Master BMS monitors cell voltages, temperatures and currents and communicates the modules with the inverter. It works only with BMZ modules. It is usually needed when you connect several BMZ modules into one system or when the inverter requires communication with the BMS. If you are not sure, we will check it for you before purchase.
Can I connect several storage modules?
Yes. 48 V (LV) modules can be connected in parallel, so you can start with one and expand the storage as your needs grow. For larger installations we have a ready-made 30 kWh set.
